What a great prayer from Patrick. All about Jesus everywhere. No wonder Jesus made him a deer to hide in safety. That is such a great calling, to have prayers taken fully with Jesus.

How wonderful for me to have found your readings beginning with Palm Sunday. I've heard of your writings for some time through Abbey of the Arts, and Diamonds in the Sky with Lucy....

Your St. Patrick post is special to me because St. Patrick's Breastplate is the hymn of The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal church, as well as one of the hymns sung at my spouse's ordination. Powerful music without a personal attachment but with the personal reference it is even more powerful to read your post as I could hear the words sung in my mind.

Your drawings of Christ are fascinating to me - they are on first glance hidden, unknown symbols of unknown beings - but once you see the Christ, then you can see nothing else - powerful inspiration you've exhibited in the renderings.

I look forward to more provocative as well as peaceful time on your site. Thank you!.....and certainly you're familiar with Thomas Cahill's ; "How the Irish saved Civilization" - a great read!

Oh I love St. Patrick! He was the first orthodox Christian we know about to argue that Christ ought to be taken to the barbarians that lived outside Rome's borders. He was an "exile for the love of God," and ought to be the patron saint of all those Christians who made a foreign land a home so they could love their neighbors. Two generations after he died, we see bursting out of Ireland all of these great apostles--leaving their beloved Ireland to go live among the barbarians, bringing new life and enthusiasm into the Dark Age monasteries in Gaul and Italy. We all owe a little something to his missionary vision, though of course there are many forgotten by all but God to which we also owe a debt of gratitude.
