Liturgy of the Passion: Awake, Awake

GethsemaneImage: Gethsemane © Jan Richardson

Readings for the Liturgy of the Passion, Year B:
Isaiah 50.4-9a, Psalm 31.9-16, Philippians 2.5-11,
Mark 14.1-15.47 or Mark 15:1-39, (40-47)

It’s no wonder the disciples sleep. It is hard work sometimes to remain present with Christ, to stay awake to him, to God’s longing for us, to the demands of resurrection.
